Tex Abbott!

 Yeah that tweet above isn't entirely real but there's nothing in it that isn't true. A little added line to the start of the Xmas greeting and perhaps the waste of space and air that is Texas Governor Greg Abbott would think that is just fine because it endears him to the base of lumps that re-elected him to "fix"stuff after he has been in office for 8 years.

Greg Abbott celebrated the birthday of his lord and savior, Jesus (Geee-zus not Hay-zeus) Christ, by sending 130 immigrants who crossed the Texas border seeking a better life, kind of like when after that tree fell on Abbott he sought a better life by suing insurance companies and getting at least $5 million dollars, heavy on the at least, via bus to New York City so he could own the libs. The bus was re routed because of that snowy inconvenience going on in the East and the stunt concluded with the freezing cold men women and children being dumped in front of the Veeps house cuz if you have to own the libs you can kill the whole black AND female thing in one cruel swoop.

Because there are far more good people in the world, these poor brown people were taken care of with blankets and shelter and food, something Abbott wouldn't even pretend to understand. Abbott sent a letter to Joe Biden just to show what a horrible prick he is compared to Joe because being a horrible prick is fish guts to the sharky like blood lust of the Republican base. Abbott said in his screed that the lives of these "migrants" were put at risk because El Paso temperatures had dipped into the 20s at night and a hellish like 45 degrees in the day. So, of course, being the "humanitarian" that Abbott portrays himself to be he shipped them to a place where temps were ranging between 10 and 22 degrees with a wind chill making it seem worse. Oh my, Republican compassion is just so owning the libs isnt it?

Abbott, who presumably sat around the night the ordered the bus trip watching A Christmas Carol cheering for Scrooge and Its a Wonderful Life thinking that Mister Potter is a fine man, can rest easily knowing that the very libs he thinks he owned lived up to being REAL followers of good christian values and took care of the frightened HUMAN refugees he sent off into the night.

For guys like Abbott and Ron DeSantis, human beings don't exist other than to be used to prop themselves up and feed their ambitions. Abbott got crushed by a tree and became an even bigger asshole. DeSantis' wife got cancer and HE became an even bigger asshole. Much like Louisiana swamp creature Steve Scalise who got fucking shot and became an even bigger asswipe. Yet all three are dedicated to their Savior, the Middle Easterner with the compassion of ya know, a lib.

You know what else boys? There are 130 refugees who wanted a room at the spacious inn. You clowns all said no. Jesus wept. That's Geee-zus fellas. The guy you are supposed to try and emulate.

Santos Or Whatever His Name Is!

 The fuckin guy got up to announce that as a gay Republican he was singlehandedly bringing MAGA to the LGBTQ community as dozens of self hating gay folks cheered. George "The Brazilian" Santos has just been elected in a Long Island congressional district licking up 54% of the vote mostly because turnout was way down from when was destroyed in 2020 by a Democrat who got to big for his britches and decided to go for the New York Governorship.

But George Santos, if that's even his real name, seems to be a lie. His resume is right out of Catch Me If You Can. He's 34 years old, if that's even his real age, and he is about to become a sworn member of Congress, if that's even a real thing. George Santos "swearing" in is like Trump's taxes. One giant fairy tale.

Lets see who George Santos claims to be. Well he started off as George DeVolder. Then George Devolder-Santos and now he's George Santos. He " graduated  " from Bernard Baruch College in 2010. Now the fact a fine Republican like Santos or Devolder of whatever the fuck his name is would go to a college named after a man who consorted with both Woodrow Wilson and FDR is strange in itself but the college itself said who the hell is George Santos or Devolder or Devolder-Santos?

Then George said he worked at Citigroup as an asset manager after college which is wonderful since my dead mother lost a shitload of money when Citigroup folded up its asset management in 2005. Whats left of Citigroup said who when asked if Gay George worked there?

Goldman Sachs, hardly the honesty champion, denied he worked there. Gorgeous George , obviously a dog lover , started a dog rescue organization that was tax exempt but the IRS also said who the fuck is George Santos and what is this dog rescue deal?

Santos, being gay and all, also was heartbroken when the Pulse nightclub was all shot up and 4 of his good friends and employees died there. Except nobody knows the connection of the 4 murder victims, the company they allegedly worked for, and Santos. There's a pattern here I think.

Santos also claimed Jewish heritage and to have lost relatives in the Holocaust even though both of his parents were born in fucking Brazil.

And finally now Santos seems to be divorced...from a woman...and a resident of Florida...

This is your GOP because it wont matter to the power brokers who just want power to get revenge. Santos is a liar, a fraud, a rich kid bored and the perfect GOP rookie for the House.

Where was this information before the 2022 election? Oh it was there, but the fucking media chose to be lazy and cover an electoral horse race for ratings and clicks. Exposing a fraud in a little known NY House race aint sexy....until now.

142,000 New York dipshits voted for this flim flam man because either the press fell down, or the Democrats showed their total incompetence, or they don't care because its just all about the R.

Mean Girls!

 Well ya know THIS was bound to happen. The two Mean Girls of Congress, one comfortably re-elected by a constituency of mouth breathers and the other barely re-elected by a lesser gang of air deprived constituents. Because of who she is, the barely re-elected cheerleader , Bobo, took the bow shot at the TPUSA convention of the Hitler Youth and jabbed at Greene with the Jewish Space Laser nonsense. Greene retaliated with a self own about childishness and support for conservatives.

Now all of this is happening because not only of teen age narcissism but because Greene has made deals, maybe about being allowed to investigate Jewish space lasers, to vote yes on the spineless worm, Kevin McCarthy, to be Speaker of the House. Boebert, on the other hand made no such deals while she was sweating out the Homecoming Queen election, and has decided to join with underage girl enthusiast, Matt Gaetz, in the bomb throwing effort to elect a genuine certified kook to the Speakership. 

These two queens of Q are at each others throats anyway, what with the narcissism and the fact Greene speaks with White Nationalists regularly and even Boebert realizes you keep that shit on the down low. The association of these two harpies is bound by selfishness and self worship anyway but eventually the kinship becomes unsustainable as each vies for position. Boebert fired the space laser shot in a classic I'll insult you before you insult me mode. Greene fired back and also kept a few bullets in her insult gun.

Texting By Old People!

 That's a text to Mark Meadows, the sounding board for all kooks and nuts, back in Jan 6th, 2021. It's from Representative Ralph Norman, one of the hissing possums from South Carolina and despite his typical Palmetto state spelling of "martial" , he represented and represents a considerable amount of the New House thinking. They will stop at nothing to sail the Titanic right smack dab into the iceberg and then stealing lifeboats from women and children so they can survive to live in their Fascists Paradise.

Meadows, the "official" Chief of Staff to Traitor McTraity , was being bombarded by whiny texts from panicky GOPers thiiiiiiiis close to being able to hold public hangings on the National Mall. They were texts about hijacking state legislatures in key states, eliminating electors using an 1887 law meant to PREVENT the very thing they were trying, and forcing crackpot conspiracy theories into Meadows phone in an attempt to keep an orange fuckstick in the White House. 

These were not the "young" dumb loudmouths like McCathorn or Greene or Boebert or Gaetz or even Jordan who were texting their dumbness that I have no doubt they will retain (tho there's hope for maturity I guess) these were old white men in their 60s and 70s and in some cases 80's. Men who have apparently been able to somehow avoid that age old adage about getting wisdom as you grow older. 

People like Ralph Norman. 69 years old and dumb as a bag of pecans and as worthless as a bag of appendixes. Norman is the one calling for "marshall law" out loud. He claimed he was "frustrated". Frustrated at what? The Constitution? By the way he won 64.5% of the vote in 2022. Nice job South Carolina.

Rep Mike Kelly is 74 years old. Scott Perry is 60 years old. Fred Keller is 57 years old. They are all from Pennsylvania. They all texted Meadows with a pants pissing panic crying about a fair election which of course to them was fixed because they lost. All of these Keystone State kooks were freaking out about voting machines, gerrymandering and a woman Sec of State one called a "MFer".

The others are the same set of usual suspects. 68 year old Mo Brooks of Alabama (no longer in office). 74 year old Texan Brian Babin who had the annoying as hell habit of signing his tweets with his last name "Babin" like anybody knows who the fuck he is. Constitution toilet paper whacko Arizonan Paul Gosar is 64 years old. Arizona insurrectionist Andy Biggs is also 64 years old. Georgia goofball Rick Allen, whose texts revealed a very disturbed man in a crisis who thinks a man in the sky sent Trump to wage a nuclear spiritual war on the world, is 71 years old. Hillbilly Missourian Billy Long is 67 years old and also 67 inches around the waist texted about "knowing" of two whole people who voted twice so therefore overturn the election. And Texas twat and doting father Ted Cruz, who acts 151 years old, was also in on the texts. Cruz, the oldest man in the world, was texting Meadows on how he was going to "lead" the effort to not certify election results. Unless of course he had a Cancun deal to go to.

Now to be fair, Mark Meadows responded to these fearful cries for help with the enthusiasm of a guy who just wants it to end. Yeah great thanks. On it thanks. I'll pass on your message. But he didn't do the universal solution to unwanted texts.....the old thumbs up emoji....but then Mark Meadows is 63 years old himself. It makes me want to limit office to those under 60 but then there are people who HAVE become wiser. Nancy Pelosi is 82. Steny Hoyer is 83. Both were wise enough to step down and let the kids have a shot. The GOP is incapable of any of that. Ugh!

Kyrsten Socipath!

 She's such a maverick. She's so unpredictable. Ya just never know what Kyrsten Sinema is gonna do next. Unless you know exactly what she's gonna do . At all times. Once the Reverend Warnock won the Georgia Senate seat by beating a babbling CTE treatment ad, Sinema had been spayed. Her wackiness wasn't going to mean as much as it had since the last time Warnock won an election over a bag of insider trading hair named Kelly Loeffler (Warnock has won 4 elections in 2 years which is 4 more than Kari Lake will ever win). Sinema lost attention for 48 hours what with her wacky wigs and goofy looks and her whole look at me vibe. The national press was all nyah nyah nyah Manchin and Sinema , your time is done.

Kyrsten Sinema was bound to grab that attention back. It's who she is. She's such an attention seeking child everybody who knows anything about her knew it was coming. Maybe we didnt think it would be within a day or two, I mean she IS a 46 year old woman with the mind of a cheerleader but cmon Karen, you wouldn't even let Warnock and the Democrats enjoy a victory over fascism for the rest of the week? Kyrsten became an "independent" forcing Democrats to , at first, grieve that we cant have nuthin and then be forced to be nice to her . After all , Bernie Sanders and Angus Kind are technically "independents". But they caucus with Democrats as will she......or will she?

Look, Sinema is a brilliant woman. She is 5 steps ahead of you and distracts the rest of us normies with her odd behavior and weird look. Sinema can read polls. She knows that virtually everyone in Arizona disapproves of her. The Democrats cant stand her blocking progress and the Republicans cant stand her allowing progress and the independents cant stand her, period . Kyrsten  knows the 2024 Arizona Democratic primary will feature her losing to a real Democrat like Ruben Gallego. She knows Republicans will probably send a kook like Kari Lake forward which would again be a fucking war. Sinema is not going to subject herself to being left out. She is putting herself in a place of power. Hey Democrats, its either me or Kari Lake or Blake Masters so make your strategy NOW.

Kyrsten Sinema started in the Green Party. She hammered Joe Lieberman, perhaps the most evil Democrat since 1965, for doing exactly what she's doing. People who know her say she's a downright socialist. But like many "socialists" who discover money, she changed from that to sociopath. Money changes everything for some, Kyrsten has received so much Republican money for throwing a wrench into the works, so much corporate money to put gum into the gears, and sucked up to Mitch McConnell who called her the greatest freshman Senator he's ever seen. Jesus Christ , Mitch, that praise means nothing to her, pull out the dollar bills. Thats all she understands.

Or maybe I am completely wrong and have been bamboozled by Krysten the Sociopath. Perhaps this is a grand strategy to grift the GOP and the Corporate Socialists. I dont know. She's so out there I can predict everything she does, yet I acknowledge her IQ is way up there. Now she has a choice on where that intelligence will go. For good. Or for Ted Cruz evil. Damn I hope it's the former.

Brittney Griner!

 Hey they let her go. Brittney Griner was freed today in exchange for a Russian arms dealer and is on her way home. But can we be happy for at least 5 minutes about it? Fuck no!

MAGA morons are out in force. Trade an arms dealer for a black lesbian gay married pothead? Not on their watch! Especially since American spy  ex Marine Paul Whelan was left behind. How dare they? I mean come on he's white and male and shit.

Donald Trump Junior went crazy. How DARE Biden trade an arms dealer (totally not replaced) for an anti American basketball player. The MAGA brigade, most of whom have no idea who Griner is launched into typical MAGA logic. Senator Rick Scott, Medicare thief and Voldemort understudy, said leaving Whelan and his bad conduct discharge from the Marines in Rooskie jail.  was "unforgivable". I guess thieves really stick together.

Bleach blonde dimwit Tomi Lahren used the bad good news about an American coming home to her family as an opportunity to advocate forcing her to stand and sing the National Anthem and forget all about that police killing unarmed black women in their bed stuff.  Tomi, who was recently seen trying to prove shes not all that stupid by having Lauren Boebert on her streaming show watched by Proud Boys  stroking their flagpoles, also called Griner a "whiny celebrity" and she oughta know cuz she makes a living at it.

I for one am happy she's coming home. Much as I was when Biden got Trevor Reed released from a Russian hell hole. I even want Paul Whelan to come home. I don't really care that guys booted out of the Marines for stealing money would probably spy for money also, but we must have a similar Russian snoop somewhere we can swap. But MAGA really doesn't want that do they? What would they bitch about?

John Lennon!

 It was a Monday night in December. I was watching Monday Night Football and the Patriots were sending a kicker onto the field when Howard Cosell said it out loud. John Lennon had been shot in the back in New York City ..D.....O....A...I'd like to say I burst into tears but it was so utterly shocking I don't think I did . It was stunning. So stunning I couldn't even get a grip on what I felt. This is impossible. Legendary musicians who changed the fucking world don't get murdered by some random stranger on the streets of America. Of course they do, it's America.

In the future trust me the assassination of John has made me burst into tears. I don't do that often but when I do it's full blown bawling. The death of my parents, the LA Rodney King riots, the death of George Harrison, the break ups, the frustration of various things, the death of a 25 year old kid I barely knew. These events made me spontaneously burst in tears.

Recalling events can also make me weep. The RFK assassination bedlam in the hotel kitchen video bothers me to no end, the JFK funeral tape when John John salutes brings tears to my eyes, Holocaust video often makes me tear up, but really nothing like remembering John Lennon makes me cry like a baby. I once heard Imagine come on the radio just randomly one night and I cried in my car. In the movie Yesterday when the young man who is one of the few who remembers Beatles music and is told to go see a man by others who also remember and when the door opens its an aged John Lennon I turned to Max's Mom and informed her I couldn't stop crying because I couldn't. He meant that much to me. 

Years ago Max's Uncle was kind enough to get myself and Max free plane tickets to New York. Both of us were NYC newbies. Max was about 12 or so, I was 50 something. Along the way we visited the Dakota Building where John has been killed. We stood on the spot, I was fighting back the emotions. I kind of wanted to go across the street into Central Park and see the memorials but I knew that had that occurred my bro and my 12 year old would have seen a rather large man in his 50s begin weeping uncontrollably. Nowadays I don't give a damn who sees me cry. Back then I did. In fact I'm tearing up now. RIP John Lennon and rot in jail unnamed murderer.

Gossip And How Things Change!

 Well that went south fast. Nebraska picked a new head coach, a guy named Matt Rhule who seems like a fine coach, and Mickey Joseph went all abuser on his wife the day before he was too be interviewed by Rhule to stay on or not. The question was out there for days, would Mickey stay as an assistant coach or leave to coach Tulsa or some other team?

Then came yesterday. The buzz was all over. There's a big story coming out of Lincoln. A coach got arrested. Oh boy, this gossipy state was ready to start making shit up again. So fun.

Then the story. Mickey Joseph arrested on domestic violence charges. If you want to read about it thats fine. Go here. Then came the "rumors" and the just plain made up garbage this part of the nation lives on to make themselves feel superior to you east and west coast "elitists". The charges and the event are horrid enough without bring innocents into the "story'. But thats what we do here. We not only trash the perpetrators of misdeeds, we also embellish it and bring other outlandish stories and people who had nothing to do with any of it but we just dont like into because they had the audacity to be friends with an abuser we had no idea was one until 5pm on Wednesday.

Many of us like Mickey Joseph. We wanted him as the permanent coach. He was a no nonsense man who held not only his players but himself accountable for losses. Not to mention that in the year 2022 he was the first black coach of ANY sport EVER at the University of Nebraska. 2022! Most of us wanted him to succeed. But all that went out the window when for whatever reason, none acceptable, that he struck his spouse.

I've seen the story as provided by the Lincoln Police , I've read the rumors most of which is garbage and I've read and heard the ridiculous crap that gossipy men put out there to either defend him or trash him even more than he's already trashed himself. Its just all so Midwest.

Years ago we had a thing called the Franklin Credit Union scandal. Bottom line was a man stole a lot of money from innocent people. But that wasn't a good enough story because around here a cigar is just NEVER just a cigar. There were male prostitutes and female traffickers and prominent men in the area participating in orgies and rape and even the asinine story of a President flying AF One into Blair Nebraska unseen just to have sex with a 16 year old girl. The articles in numerous papers called us a town about to gossip itself to death. If you said ya know thats crap you were accused of covering up for rich guys and politicians. It was nuts.

The point is sometimes I hate it here. The same bad shit that goes on everyplace else happens here in the hard working Midwest. We aren't any different than those in New York or California as much as we pretend. There the gossip is cultural and economic. Here its just plain mean.

Mickey Joseph!

  I am going to go all provincial today. 

Yesterday the 2022 University of Nebraska football season came to a merciful end. As I've stated before, been a fan since 1963, loved most of it, in my DNA blah blah but this last 5 years have tested my loyalty. They just plain suck. It's become a chore to get up and drive to Lincoln, fight traffic, find parking, sit in a cramped 100 year old concrete uncomfortable stadium, watch a team of stumblebums, and then fight traffic all the way back to Omaha. Yeah some of it is my age, some of it is every game is on TV, some of it is covid and some of it is it's just not that important to me any longer but I keep doing it.

Today a new head coach was hired. A guy named Mark Ruhle , a coach who turned around programs at Temple and Baylor then failed miserably at the NFL. So I guess one of the most storied college football programs in history is in the Temple-Baylor camp. "Wonderful " leadership the last few years, put us here right?

I don't know what Ruhle will do or won't do since I have a mediocre track record on coaches (Callahan no way Pelini no way Riley I like it and Frost yes yes yes!) but what choice do I have? Support the guy until the next millions of dollars buyout is forced upon us. 

I wanted Mickey Joseph to get the job permanently. He got it on an interim basis back in September. He went 3-6 in his tenure. They played better. Only Oklahoma blew them out. They beat Iowa for the first time in 7 years. He was truly a guy who got a pile of garbage dumped in his lap and told to clean it up fast. Well as far as I'm concerned he did. But he has no loud bells and bright lights and glitter dropping from the heavens to most Husker fans. Paying $9 million to a guy who gives people hope and more importantly keeps the money spigot on is priority ONE. We all know how this works. And an interim coach who's earned a shot isn't going to please the masses.

Thanks Mickey! I doubt if you will stay here, but you are the best coach we have had since 2003. Good luck man!

JFK!

 Its never been the same. I was a small child doing my time in the Catholic school. Somewhere around 1 pm Miss Wegner (yes I remember her name so she must have made an impression on me) left the 2nd grade classroom. When she returned a few moments later she was fighting back tears. She announced that the President had been shot and that we could go home. So we gathered up out stuff, coats and the like and went home. I walked the half mile or so home on a busy street because that's how it worked back then only to walk into the house and see my Mom and little brother watching TV and Mom was sniffling a lot. What the heck is going on here? It was Friday ,Mom, and we got out of school early!

My memories of that time are sketchy and some may even be false. But that event was the first event I actually have a recollection of. I don't remember the 1962 missile crisis at all. In fact really all I can barely recall of my toddler years are falling in a bucket of water "helping" Dad wash the car and my Mom and Dad driving up Pine Street to the hospital cuz my brother was dying to get out of her womb and start raising hell. Other than that before 11/22/63 I am pretty cloudy.

Mom cried a lot that weekend. It was the first time I'd ever seen that. The funeral I sort of recall and more tears. Certain events define your life whether it be music or sports or movies or fuckin assassinations. The death of JFK started me onto paying attention to the world. Its never stopped. 

When I was in the Dallas area for a while in the summer of 1973, while not watching the Watergate hearings, I would borrow my Aunt Doris's car, and drive to Dealey Plaza and just walk around. This happened literally every other day. It was fascinating to me. Yeah I know I was/am a real history geek.

Hope died that day in my opinion. Hope causes certain people to freak out. JFK led to Nixon. Obama led to Trump. America doesn't like hope. It likes status quo. America really does have a lot of authoritarianism in it's DNA and always has. Probably always will.

Next year will be 60 years since the defining moment of my generation. I will be there again hopefully. As we were for 50 years in 2012.

PS--I still remember my Mom saying she voted for Nixon. I remember my Dad and his straw hat with JFK's face glued to the top. I wish I still had it. Mom eventually became more "radical" than Dad and I wish I could talk to both of them about that day in 1963. I guess my lesson here is this. Talk to your parents about stuff like this because some day you wont be able to.

Colorado Springs!

 Hey look I've been to Colorado Springs as late as last August... I am not a fan of the place because its full of hardcore Christianity and right wing fanaticism but unfortunately it has things near it we like. The people there seem nice, I am sure there's cool people stuck in a 2nd Amendment sanctuary city much like I am stuck in the scenery less right wing hellhole called Nebraska. We had some nut shoot up a Von Maur here years ago and there was no agenda to that 17 year old kook other than he wanted to be "famous". I cannot even remember his name so he failed and fuck him anyway.

But in The Springs the other night, a bunch of people who must feel like outcasts went to a club to have fun, dance, watch a drag show, and be fucking safe. Well they were not safe because a grandson of a MAGA freak and the son of a gun nut took his long gun to the Club Q and opened fire on a bunch of people who were not hurting his miserable existence in any way. He killed 5 people who had done nothing to him, and wounded another 25 or so before a couple of club goers kicked his ass and took him down. 2 unarmed men, brave enough to risk their own lives to save others took this monster down. And though the whole sordid affair took less than 3 minutes, 5 people are dead and numerous others have had their lives changed forever. Goddammit will this EVER stop?

This was done in an atmosphere of hatred and bigotry unseen in years. The recent election brought out the GOP goons and their battering of "drag shows" and "groomers" and "pedophiles" and blaming the LGBTQ community of all sorts of shit they didn't do. Now I wont speculate on what goes on deep down inside the GOP thugs minds but what it does result in is THIS. Weak minded gunmen, emboldened by these stupid people and their bigotry, and supplied arms by soulless politicians looking for the votes of a LOUD number of humans who just love their guns more than their families, kids and certainly strangers.

I am not naive enough to think any politicians in the 2nd Amendment sanctuary city of Colorado Springs will change their minds about anything. Much like here in Nebraska where the only "progress" made after the Von Maur massacre is that pretty soon it will be legal for any yahoo to walk around packing without so much as 1 minute of training because its in the 2nd Amendment y'all. 

I hate guns. I don't own one. But as time goes on,  and the Trump cult continues to breathe air, I am thinking that whole gun thing over. This country's politicians suck.

Oh yeah and my idea is to station two gay men in every school in this nation to take down any potential mass murderer with a gun. They seem to be the only group willing to risk it all to stop a madman.

Now THATS a "grooming" we can all get in line for.

 Yesterday in the US Senate there were 62 votes, including all Democrats and 12 Republicans, to advance the Respect for Marriage Act for a floor vote which only need 51 votes to pass and that's a given. I don't know why I watched the sausage being made watching intently as the yays piling up and it made me happy each time a yay was uttered. The usual suspects threw themselves in the way, the Cruz's, the Cornyns, the Blackburns, the Grassleys, the Fishers (waste of air-Ne) the Hawleys, the Grahams (really?) , the Tubervilles, the Kennedys (Foghorn Leghorn-La) the Cottons (Slapdick-Ar) and the rest. But I, a person with 75% of the privilege allowed in this country (straight ,white , male, not so much on the "christian" part) have real passion for those who do not share that advantage. They've been fucked around with long enough.

I have never understood the opposition to something that does not affect your life in the least. If two men or two women or a black man and a white woman or a black woman and a white man or a turtle and Asian woman want to be a legal entity with all the rights afforded such legal agreements who the hell cares? When I saw Mitch McConnell, all jokes aside, a white man married to an Asian woman (Elaine Chao not Chow Chow) walked onto the floor and did a John McCain and thumbed himself downward I was aghast. The evil motherfucker literally just voted to make his marriage potentially illegal. Its absolutely baffling that these Republican cultists care either. I understand that there are people out there who believe that life is a zero sum game. For every dollar not given to you, it goes to somebody else and that's a loss for you. For every right given to a minority, that means a right is taken from you. That's not only illogical, it's bullshit . But that's how many people think. White Republicans enjoy white privilege. They enjoy Heterosexual privilege. Goddammit they dont wanna give it up.

Living proof that progress will win in the end despite the efforts to stop it. This was unthinkable even 20 years ago. Gay marriage or as the gays call it, marriage, was never going to pass. I remember the day back in 2000 when Measure 416 was on the ballot here in Nebraska. That measure outlawed same sex marriage and put it into the Nebraska Constitution (that's a cluster of dumb if you've ever read it) . I had hope that Nebraskans weren't asshole enough to pass a cruel measure like that. But the homophobes from outside the state came in, the Catholics and the LDS merged, and a disappointing reaction from the black community caused this measure to pass with 70% of the vote. 70 fucking percent of my state voted yes to this bigoted bullshit and that was the day I realized that Nebraska Nice was 70% horseshit. Cruelty is not a Nebraska Value or yeah I guess it is.

But progress wins. Period. It may be a rocky road, but as my generation of bitter old coots dies off, a new voter who is 18 and sees no color or gender or sexual identity replaces them. I really don't want anyone to die, I would prefer a re-awakening of logic and compassion, but dying is what all old fogies do and with them goes the "things were better back then" attitude. Good riddance.

Say speaking of progress. Virginia MAGA Governor Glenn Youngkin (not Young Kin) presented to the Virginia State Board Of Education brand spanking new social studies standards that eliminate all mention of Martin Luther King, Juneteenth (a national holiday), and  teach that slavery was just an unfortunate oops our bad deviation from American excellence. There also is not one mention of the word "racism". There is not one mention of slavery being a cause of the Civil War. It's a pure white supremacist version of American history.

Sorry Glenn but that shit's gonna stink. Bad. And when shit stinks it gets flushed or sprayed out of existence, much like your boy Donnie Trump. So eventually progress will win, and the dumbness that is Virginia history standards will go away. You cannot stop young people from critical thinking at some point in their lives. Some before others but eventually it will happen. Your history standards may appeal to people who haven't seen a classroom in 50 years, but to those currently in a classroom, that duck wont fly.

Thoughts On Parade!

 Well its not over. There's like a Dumb and Dumber chance that the Democrats maintain control of the hissing possums and insane crazies that permeate the House. Probably not but I never give up hope until that Colorado cretin Boebert is deemed the winner of her race then of course claim fraud and call for the Antifa gang to roll around the courthouse on their bicycles chanting something stupid. No of course not, our side concedes like one is supposed to unlike the other side who thinks the white bubble they live in is all that matters and election should be determined by how many Twitter followers each candidate has, bots included. So that is up in the air.

Nonetheless , chances are the GOAT, Nancy The Great will not be Speaker any longer come January. That whole GOP clusterfuck coming will be so entertaining but anyway, as of now the Democrats have the majority and need to do shit NOW. The lame duck session features Nancy's last stand, and as the theory goes, make it count.

The Republicans, led by some of the dumbest people who have ever graced the halls of the Capitol , like Rick Scott, Kevin McCarthy and their tiny little followers like Lindsey Graham and Steve Scalise. put it in writing, IN WRITING, that the GOP would cut Social Security and Medicare, outlaw abortion on a national level, and cut taxes even further to their rich donors. They would hold up the debt ceiling vote, perhaps even wreck the world's economy, in order to accomplish the destruction of Social Security and Medicare, and Mitch McConnell even said, OUT LOUD, it was a "hostage worth taking" back when they tried it last time. Yeah, again., they are who they say they are, and they will do as they say they do, so something needs to be done NOW.

Nancy Pelosi's swan song is to deal with the debt ceiling NOW, during the lame duck session and take it away from the vandals of the GOP who will use it next quarter. Do what she says , Democrats. Steal their weapons while you can and make the Republican Civil War that much more popcorn and butter fun. 

The sudden disruption to the Trump is God cult is already starting. Fox News has abandoned ship to promote Ron DeSantis (Fascist-Fl) to head cultmaster. Many former allies of the Espionager in Chief have also taken a powder hoping the dimbulbs who vote Republican will forget their former subservience to a madman rapist in chief. Donald who?

Unfortunately for the Elephant in the room, the trash that still drools and swoons over the sight of the  orange shit stirrer in chief is still there. They may be fewer in number but they are LOUDER than ever, especially now that they are cornered animals with guns and flags. Kari Lake (Vacuumer-Az)  finally lost. The filtered phony, really she's just an asshole, will throw her feces around like a pissed off spider monkey for a while. She will walk out of interviews, she will claim she won, she will trash McCain, she will continue to pledge allegiance to the Trump train wreck. But at some point she will realize she's a total loser, again just an asshole, and take that job on Fox News alongside fellow asshole loser, Tulsi Gabbard. It will turn out thats all this was about for both of them. Get the money. Be just as big of an asswipe as to ensure your loss, then grab the money from the billionaires who cater to the rubes. That was Trumps plan after all then OOPS for the whole world. Since I don't watch the Murdoch mess, Kari Lake will go back to what she does best, being a purified prick. Hope the Fox filters are top notch.

The Good The Bad The Ugly And The Weird!

 Well its over. The red wave or as I called it the spread of fascism was avoided for the most part and it has made the country relatively safe for a couple of years. It was harrowing, still is in a lot of places, but it was the young folks who said ENOUGH of this shitty boomer generation and its fascination with racism and climate change denial. But not enough youngsters came out because none of this nail biting would be going on in Arizona or Nevada  or Georgia. The kids did just enough to stop a generation of nitwits (mine) from fucking the nation up forever. And I hope in 2024 that as more of mine are dead and more of them become eligible to vote, this tenseness will not be in force. Ok onward to the Good The Bad And the Ugly.

The GOOD

The Democrats took control of legislatures in Michigan and Pennsylvania despite the gerrymandering passed to keep that from happening.

Mark Kelly held off a genuine Nazi in Arizona and became Senator 49.

Gretchen Whitmer, Tony Evers, Kathy Hochul, Wes Moore, Jared Polis, Tina Kotek, Katie Hobbs, Gavin Newsom, Tim Walz, Laura Kelly , Michelle Lujan, Josh Shapiro, Janet Mills, J B Pritzker, Maura Healey, Josh Green all won Governorships in blue states.

The House may or may not be lost by the Democrats. The fact "may not" is even in there is remarkable.

The Nebraska Legislature will NOT be a filibuster proof Republican theocratic nightmare after all. John Fredrickson, a newcomer I admire greatly, will pull out his district (my district) after the absentee votes are counted. I know I'm being provincial here but that is HUGE for this state.

The BAD

The House may be lost. It appears that the idiot Congresswoman from Colorado, Lauren Boebert, will hang on to keep her seat. So look forward to even more idiocy from that body.

The Senate was way too close. Ron Johnson? Really Wisconsin? The Senator from Moscow pulls it out again. Now you can blame the Democrats for a candidate easy to make scary if you wish, but I blame the rural racists who would rather have a white Russian stooge in the Senate than a black man, period.

Greg Abbott took Beto O'Rourke to the loser room after claiming he would "fix Texas" after he's already been in office for 8 years. Really Texas? Being a Texas liberal must be a bitch.

Kristi Noem, Jim Pillen, Brian Stitt, Brian Kemp all won governorships by fooling its residents into resorting to reptile brain knee jerk reactions that the white people are in danger of being overrun.

The UGLY

Any country that elects the likes of a toxic twat like Marjorie Taylor Greene, an alleged pedophile like Matt Gaetz,  a prancing frustrated pole dancer like Lauren Boebert, a spineless wimp like Kevin McCarthy or a backstabbing phony sociopath like Elise Stefanik needs some therapy. Lots of therapy.

Kansas had the opportunity to drive a stake through the political heart of America's greatest race baiting scumbag, Kris Kobach, one and for all. It decided ahhhh nahhhh he has an R next to his name  so lets give him another chance. He's now your Attorney General, Kansas. Big butt dial error on that one Kansas.

Nebraska had a choice to make. It had the choice of a former Husker football player who once fell on a fumble in a big game or a competent state senator and of course it chose the football guy. Jim Pillen never debated, even in the GOP primary, he never went to big cities of Omaha or Lincoln, he hung out in Legion Halls and VFW halls in rural Nebraska, he refused to give interviews to what he deemed "unfriendly reporters", he ran commercials with his grandkids, he promised to lower property taxes yet his plan would skyrocket property taxes. Yet he won with 60 some percent of the vote. It's irresponsible that this worked. So nice job Nebraska rewarding sloth.

Kari Lake is just the ugliest excuse for a politician. A former news reader who supported Obama, hung out with drag queens, and expressed liberal views. But somewhere along the line she figured the route to political success in Arizona is to go full MAGA and deny her past, not only denying but blowing it up. But she's technically still around. Behind that fill blown filter making her look like a glowing firefly is one ugly person. Inside and out.

The WEIRD

Nebraska Attorney General candidate Larry Bollinger of the Legal Marijuana Party got 75,000 votes in Douglas County alone (thats Omaha). Now the reason is because Nebraska Democrats suck and didn't even bother to field a candidate for Attorney General thus leaving people like me who refuse to vote for a Republican lawyer once choice. The Legal Marijuana Party.

Elections And Annie!

 

While most of you were gripping watching election results, I was not. More on that later.

The election was considered a win for democracy overall. Oh sure it looks as if the GOP will take control of the House, but not by much, and with fewer kooks than anticipated so it may not bode well for backstabbing sociopaths like Else Stefanik looking to climb over bodies to the Speakers chair. The Senate appears even again. I know John Fetterman took out Oz in PA but Arizona and Nevada look shaky. And Georgia, led by white men with football hard ons, voted en masse for a CTE suffering violent maniac named Herschel Walker. Texas is Texas voting for an uncaring asshole like Greg Abbott to continue on doing nothing. Nebraska voted for a Christo-Fascist named Jim Pillen who did NOTHING to earn even 1 vote. Wisconsin re elected a Senator representing Moscow because the black guy was not acceptable. Missouri legalized recreational pot making a trip to Missouri for fireworks and pot a 90 minute drive for us Nebraskans, who lurched backwards again. Abortion rights were put into state Constitution in 5 states, including Kentucky . A professional liar with a wandering eye named Sarah Sanders was elected in Arkansas as Governor. What the fuck? Louisiana refused to outlaw slavery. Gun toting Governor Mee Maw Ivy was elected in Alabama as Governor. I dont know if actual fascist Kari Lake and actual Nazi Blake Masters won in Arizona. Yes it was a great night for Democrats per all pundits so I ask myself why do I feel so bad? 

Probably because my state, Nebraska, did absolutely nothing to progress. It installed a filibuster proof Republican fascist lege. It installed a redundant Voter ID law (you already have to show ID when you register to vote). It elected a religious kook to the governors chair. It re elected three Congressmen who couldn't move the needle with a sledgehammer they are such Republican dullards. It re elected County Prosecutors who have no interest in anything but throwing black people in prison and releasing white people who kill unarmed black people. The state is back in the 1950's and I shudder at its future. Get out youngsters, theres nothing here for you except old white men who say out loud the reason you leave is because of "property taxes". 

Now Annie. The touring musical stopped here for the week and I knew not what to expect. Its 50 years old, my square Dad loved it in the 1970s, and I liked the movie with Jamie Foxx (yeah I'm the one). 

The show is nostalgic, it is comfort food, it has some really talented kids, and I loved it all from the beginning to the end. It has an old school overture, the two best known songs are over early, it has a lot of depression era references us history geeks liked and it has both FDR AND a cute dog.

You know the story. Orphanage, Annie gets taken to the Warbucks mansion for a party, her eternal optimism takes over, she inspires the New Deal, her "parents" show up , the parents are frauds (the jig is up!), the orphans show up at Christmas, and Annie gets adopted and all ends well. 

The cast is fantastic. Annie is a wonder, the orphans are a wonder, Daddy Warbucks is a wonder, the evil headmistress at the orphanage is deliciously evil and funny, FDR is a wonder and last but not least, Sandy the dog is a scene stealer (yeah its a real rescue dog). 

The curtain call is old school, the biggest applause goes to Warbucks, the orphans, the headmistress and of course Annie. But the dog is given the most applause and every time he comes into a scene the collective crowd goes "Ahhhhhhh"

Election Day! No More Ads!

 It's election day, finally. One of these days I hope to have one of these days without a complete dread of what stupid things white people will do. I hear of church burnings in Mississippi overnight. tiny dicked white men in vests and masks and guns hanging around polling place, slow witted trumpers, fleeced for every cent they have buying flags and signs and shit, standing around making animal noises, politicians calling for lawsuits in case they lose, and Jan 6ers not in jail waiting for orders to do it all over again but this time with weapons and a shoot to kill order from Mar a Lago Mussolini.

I guess that the bright side is these fucking ads will cease. Locally all I can say is no more Don Bacon (Nobody-Ne) ads showing his opponent, a decent guy named Tony Vargas who is neck and neck with Bacon, in a tye dyed t shirt (hippie!) a megaphone (agitator!) , darkened skin (Messican!), and in the Nebraska lege (raising your taxes!), and with yet another megaphone (urging Antifa to kill cops!). Vargas, the son of Peruvian immigrants has to constantly answer the ads with his mom, his kids, and a smile to assure Bacons fans  that he's not Che Guevera (not that Bacon fans know who that is). He may win, Bacon is a 50/50 guy at best, despite the massive spending to demonize Vargas. 

In the Governors race, a theocratic fascist named Jim Pillen, has few ads, hes so assured he will win because of that R next to his name. He never debated, even his primary opponents, and nobody knows what he wants other than "lower property taxes" though his "education plan" would skyrocket property taxes. Look, Nebraska, The Republicans have run this fucking place for 30 years, and property taxes and taxes in general have NOT gone down a bit but you KEEP voting for these fuckers. Why?? Pillen is a dope, the rumor is he wont debate because he has no grasp of any issues at all, and his ads feature his 7 grandkids, every one of which is probably smarter than him, asking Grandpa why he's running for Governor. Yeah exactly, Jim, and that's why your grandkids are smarter than you.  They know you're not up to the job.

Pillen's opponent is a competent state senator named Carol Blood. A woman of substance, who actually debated not only in the primary but sat there with Pillen's Republican opponents and traded blows with them though Pillen was probably at some VFW hall someplace in rural Nebraska boring the shit out of hand picked rural Republicans. I have not seen one Carol Blood ad by the way. Thanks Citizen United.

Mike Flood is a stereotypical Republican nerd. Chubby face with glasses, nice high and tight haircut, button down blue shirt with t shirt underneath and proud of his fascist leanings. Flood's ads tear his opponent apart by calling her, Patty Pansing Brooks, Patty Pelosi. He demonizes her as somebody who favors abortion even if the baby is in the maternity ward minding its own business, loves raising taxes and inflation just like ta daaaaaaa Nancy Pelosi and has three names like some radical feminist who needs to be put into line. And he whines thats she's "lying" about his whacko views. Brooks is another perfectly competent state senator who helped kill Nebraska's trigger abortion law. So of course she's evillllll (cue the lightning noise and turning her into a demon). 

Then there's Kim Reynolds (white nationalist-Ia) who is 17 points up on her opponent, another perfectly competent Iowa state legislator named Deidre DeJear (shhhh she's black) . But Reynolds cant not let THIS one go. She has run against Cori Bush (D-Mo) showing Bush calling for defunding the police and implying that because she's a black woman thats Deidre DeJear. Reynolds lies about her record, smiles broadly in that oh so creepy Karen way, and talks about how Iowans have not lost their minds. But thats not good enough, Reynolds went all white nationalist in her last ad (see previous post) showing happy white folks at parades waving flags and being all white. Ugh!

Well all those ads will all come to an end after today and local TV can count all their money and roll around in it while both sidesing the news. Thank the stars!

The ads have actually done its job, though. 

It has shown today is a choice. 

Its either democracy or its fascism. Period

Kim Reynolds, White Is Right!

 Two days from now Americans will decide. Fascism or democracy. Repression or freedom. White nationalism or diversity. Its all very clear to anyone paying attention.

Here in the "heartland" the ads are disgusting. They are endless. They are lies. They are just never ending and when the commercials come on I mute the TV, or watch streaming which are increasingly being inundated with political ads that you cannot fast forward through. Even other states blast thru into your viewing of Dopesick or The Dropout or What we Do in the Shadows. I've seen ads from Bacon and Flood and Vargas and foreign ads like Herschel or Warnock or Fetterman and even Oz. But here in the Midwest, where "real" Americans live (puke) and the GOP gets more worried their vise grip on the Midwest becomes threatened by cities and suburbs cutting in on their territory. You know, the territory where the Republicans have run the place for 100 years, yet have done nothing to help the rural folks and blame the Democrats who have no power and then the rube goes yeah and votes R out of habit.

Kim Reynolds is running for re election as Governor of Iowa. Now Iowa is the home of Chuck Grassley, Terry Branstad, Robert Ray, all Iowa politicians who served at their own discretion. You see Iowa NEVER changes who they vote for if you are GOP. Its like Iowa law saying you cannot change Republican fossils ever. Its maddening. Grassley is a doddering fascist, Branstad was a competent moderate, Ray would be Democrat in todays world. But Kim Reynolds is a different type of Iowan. She's a former drunk who has found Jesus, and thus has gone the whole path to White nationalism. Her ads are anti-gay anti trans and feature all sorts of happy happy white people loving life in 98% white Iowa. They are infuriating. Kim Reynolds simple doesnt care about blacks browns gays trans Asians or anyone else not enamored with butter cows and corn oh and also federal handouts for farmers while decrying "socialism" .

The Kim Reynolds ads are especially racist, homophobic and transphobic because of who she's running against, a black woman named Deidre DeJear who has no chance in white Iowa.  But Reynolds cannot resist piling on making sure the white supremacists who would deny being one are happy knowing one of their own is running the show. 

Look Reynolds is going to win. She would have won simply being a nice lady with vanilla ads but people like her, Christian White Nationalists, cant stop. They MUST tell you how goddamned religious they are, how pro cop they are no matter what, how white they are, and how much they really despise things they dont understand. 

Look I cannot stand her. I dont trust people who lurch from one extreme, alcoholism, to religious fanaticism, all this means is they are subject to yet another sudden change. Reynolds is going full white nationalist with a fucking overdone smile. She's not dangerous, unless you're gay or trans or black or brown, ok yeah she IS dangerous to decent people. Iowa will have to deal with it, or get the fuck out cuz its never going to change there.

Now part of the reason I cannot stand Kim Reynolds is this, which I saw in person for no reason other than to believe it was happening. Her screeching voice made me cover my ears and it was at that point I realized, goddam that woman is not only unlistenable,  she's crazy.

It's a week away. One week from now this country decides which route to take. A route of suppression, a backwards step to a time of white male supremacy, a route of christian nationalism, not a step back to 1950 but a step back to 1776 in effect before the country was founded. Or do we reject this new fascism and its peddlers and get back on the highway forward?

Being an optimist deep down while outwardly being a pessimist is hard. I still have that pilot light of hope that America is not a nation of assholes and bigots and stupid. But that light is about out. The predictions of GOP control and the GOP "promises" of investigations and accountability and not much else are very disturbing. The "Commitment to America" holds a large swath of nothing. There are no plans to combat inflation or spending. It's all simplistic bullshit like they know their base aint too bright. While we all  know with certainty that inflation is being pushed by corporate greed, record profits, supply chain issues and a sort of conspiracy by Republicans and Corporate America to keep the economy unstable. And it may work. 

The problem with all of this is the only alternative to high gas prices and the price of eggs (what?) is fascism. Look, man, the GOP isn't going to do a goddamned thing economically except give more tax cuts to their donors and pay for it with cuts to Social Security and Medicare using the same old trickle down horseshit. it will be all about revenge on all the stuff the GOP doesnt like. Impeach Biden, impeach Garland, impeach Harris, investigate Fauci, somehow get House Speaker Wingnut McWingnut into the Presidency (yeah I know its a virtual impossibility at this point) and then its truly over.

Look, if we vote we kill them. They will die like a vampire in the sunlight. But whether we vote is an every two year struggle. The "liberal"media, protecting its profits at all costs, give us people like Andrea Mitchell and Chuck Todd and Joe Scarborough blathering about the closeness of the races and how "both sides" do the bad stuff like hit 82 year old men in the head with hammers. Its maddening,

Earlier today Capitol Police Officer Michael Fanone, a man beaten and tazed by Trump enraged white trash called Republican Arizona Gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake a "piece of shit". Chrissakes if Id been moderating that I'd have started mentioning names, Ted Cruz, Blake Masters, JD Vance, Greg Abbott, Dr Oz, Dan Bolduc, John Cornyn, Rand Paul, Tulsi Gabbard, Tudor Dixon, Tim Michel, Tom Cotton, Ted Cruz again, Kari Lake again and the big shit himself, Donald Trump just to hear Fanone call all of them pieces of shit too.But no, this juvenile country and its "liberal" media was more offended at the word "shit" than the word "fascism".

 Twitter changed hands last Friday when a crazy man spent 44 billion to play with it in his sandbox. Much to the delight of conservatives who also delight in hate speech and dropping racial slurs, anti Semitic screeds, vaccine disinformation and homophobic rants, Elon Musk grabbed twitter by the cords and along with his butcher Saudi bros and let them loose. The N bomb went up 500% in one fucking day, anti-semitism ran rampant and the vaccine deniers all get on there like twitter had become 4 chan. Lots of people I follow stated they were leaving twitter in some sort of self righteous brag that probably wont even come to be. I am not leaving even if the screw loose owner and his murderous Saudi buddies reinstate the account of one Donald Trump, who will definitely come back because he said he would not come back and the fuckin guy never tells the truth. I will still be there @traitortrumpy hammering away.

Speaking of hammers, when a crazed Qanon whacko busted into the Pelosi home in San Francisco looking to kill Nancy Pelosi (much like the sing songy tough guys on Jan 6) but she wasn't there so he took a hammer and hit her husband over the head before Police took him into custody. Now had Nancy been home her security would have ended this Q anon nuts life and the right would have gone crazy with the theories and the hate. But instead, because the right wing lame brains are incapable of empathy with anybody but Ashli Babbit, they have come up with jokes and memes and conspiracy theories and homophobic nonsense furthering their own closeted feelings. Kevin McCarthy and Elise Stefanik, two power mad psychopaths who would hammer ANYBODY who got in their way on the road to the Speakers chair, not a fuckin word. No sympathy no bullshit about thoughts and prayers, absolutely nothing because the image of Chris Christie shaking hands with the black anti Christ Barack Hussein Obama after a natural disaster still reminds them of the bases hate gene and its suicidal implications for them. Steve Scalise, a shooting victim himself from a madman Bernie Bro, nuthin. Scalise is one of the few people who faced death and became an even bigger asshole. Donald Trump Junior, probably in some sort of altered state, retweeted a "Halloween costume" featuring a pair of tighty whiteys and a hammer. Now Junior isnt exactly the most subtle Trump, that would be Barron, but even for a sniffy birdbrain like Junior, the closeted feelings aside, its not worthy of a prominent snorthead.

Twitter will be a cesspool (yeah I know it already was) for a while, then after Musk gets distracted by a squirrel it will go back to whatever normal is.

Trumps Brazilian bitch Bolsanaro lost his election to a "leftist" despite the military closing roads in Lula leaning areas (dont give Arizona or Florida any ideas) to prevent voting. Trump is on a roll of defeat lately. Lets hope it keeps up.

I went to see the movie Till over the weekend. I know a lot about Emmitt Till's story and if you also know you probably wont learn anything new. But this movie is important. Its well done, it doesn't pull any punches, it will infuriate you yet also you will learn a lot about where MAGA wants to take us back to. Segregated Mississippi, the dangers of being around dumb white rednecks, and the corrupt justice system of the South. Emmitt Tills mom was a trailblazer. She was an inspiration and she was brave in allowing her battered and shot 14 year old son's body to be shown. Its a great film (they do NOT show the murder so we arent subjected to violence against black children but to be warned you will see his destroyed body)

Fetterman And Other Stuff!

 There was a Pennsylvania Senate Debate two nights ago, did ya hear? The Democratic nominee, a guy named John Fetterman (he had a stroke ya know) and the Republican nominee, a Trump endorsed snake oil salesman "doctor" unleashed on us by Oprah, Mehmet Oz, battled it out on a stage and apparently nobody listened to a word that was said because Fetterman (he had a stroke ya know) failed to drool on himself but had trouble speaking (he had a stroke ya know). Despite the fact that Oz wants any woman to call her local weed commissioner or library board member to consult on having an abortion, all anybody in the pres could talk about was Fetterman (he had a stroke right).

NBC News said Democrats are on edge about Fetterman (had a stroke) CNN came up with a guy, an alleged Fetterman supporter who exclaimed "it was tough", The Guardian said it was "disastrous", Business Insider was "sympathetic", The NY Times "raised Democratic anxieties", Philadelphia Inquirer Democrats were "shaken" and Go Phillies, Axios "painful", Wall Street Journal "October Surprise"  , Pittsburgh Post Gazette "medical experts weigh in", cuz you know the Fetterman had a stroke. For fucks sake Greg Abbott cant walk, Herschel Walker has CTE, Tammy Duckworth is missing limbs, two sitting Congress critters have had strokes, Donald Trump has untreated syphilis (I kid I kid) and Kevin McCarthy and Ted Cruz have no spines yet nothing is beat into your head like this.

Republican "sympathy" was in full measure. Joe Scarborough, a true sock puppet, expresses his "concern", Stephen Miller, the rafter hanging bat faced Nazi, says he's "concerned", Megan McCain, whose father had a terminal brain tumor and served in the Senate, yacks about her "concern" and yes its pretend....How do I make fun of a guy without looking like a Trumpian troll doll? Express CONCERN when all you really want is to remind everyone Fetterman HAD A STROKE thus making him unfit and please elect a con artist named Oz who wants women to call the local school board person to ask if she can have an abortion. THATS the real story and the ONLY story that matters! Dr Oz thinks women should have to call the local community college board to ask if she can have Herschel Walkers baby aborted? 

Justice Sam Alito, a liar dog, spoke to the Heritage Foundation (what the fuck is a sitting SCOTUS judge talking to that band of right wing fascists?) and began crying about how threatened he felt after the leak  from one of Clarence Thomas' staffers or wife  an unknown source said that Roe was about to be overturned. We became "targets for assassination"  he whined . This could have given people rational reason to kill one of them to prevent that from happening. Off the fainting couch for a second Sammy. Even if one of them would have been gunned down, the decision still goes through. The mental case who was going to "kill" Kavs (another mental case) called 911 to turn himself in so stop running with that false narrative. Alito carried on with oh its just fine to criticize the Court, but if you state the court is "illegitimate" or lacks "integrity" that's a line you cannot cross in Sams mind. Yeah despite the fact a raging lunatic traitorous felon with the help of a madman turtle like power monger appointed 3 of these dipshits you cannot question their character! 

Alito was also all butthurt that Justice Elena Kagan used the word "legitimacy" and said the court appeared to be "an extension of politics". Oh my word, there's that crossed line again . Alito has lots of lines you can't cross or he gets all offended.  And apparently expanding the court, ya know to keep up with the times, would be the ONLY thing that would question the legitimacy of this court. 

Sorry Sam, though Kagan didnt come right out and say it, some of us will. Your court is an illegitimate band of  partisan hacks appointed by the worst and the 2nd worst Presidents of all time. And 2 of them are downright results of a bloodless coup. Not to mention WHY are you talking, you aren't even the Chief Justice, some jellyfish is.

2nd Amendment Enthusiast Strikes Again!

 Its two weeks away. Democracy vs fascism. Rural vs urban. What do you want? Just get out there and vote and if you're gonna vote red I hope you get stuck in traffic from all the blues heading for the polls.

Another school shooting in St Louis yesterday and nobody cares as usual.  The doors were locked, there were 7 security guards on duty, yet a gunman with a long gun entered the school and killed a teenager and a health teacher then proceeded to blast away and wound 7 more until his gun jammed, police arrived and shot him dead. All this took place in 14 freakin minutes. So locked doors, security guards and a quick response by cops, not them standing around afraid to take the guy on for an hour, and STILL 2 dead and 7 wounded. Alexandria Bell was 15 years old , a dance team member and and died just going to school to learn, and Jean Kucza was a 61 year old health groomer teacher, looking forward to retirement and loved her students. As usual the kids jumped out windows, hid in locked classrooms, hid wherever they could as the 19 year old gunman rampaged through the school. Alexandria was simply in the right place at the  wrong time and Mrs Kucza was putting herself in front of her students as most teachers who get murdered do as some NRA sponsored madman kills.

Give the police  credit. They were there in 4 minutes, entered the school and killed the fucker within 14 minutes of him shooting his first victim. . That's what should happen but as we know from Columbine and Uvalde they don't always do that,  sometimes preferring to wait for the killer to kill themselves or run out of ammo. 

So Ted Cruz, your locked door solution failed as everybody knew it would you racist piece of shit (I love New York) , the security guard solution failed as everyone knew it would. Look like this may be what Missouri needs to do the right thing in regards to school shootings because as we all know, IT'S THE GUNS. Yeah Missouri, do the right thing with that Republican run statehouse of yours, call teachers "groomers", and send parents DNA kits so they can identify your butchered child after some 2nd amendment enthusiast shoots them in the face. 

It IS two weeks away. When America stays America or becomes Amerikkka. Some of the local races nobody does any research on are school board races or state boards of education. Trust me you want to do at least a little digging in of your own to prevent local cranks, kooks and theocrats from taking control and diverting your tax money to religious indoctrination schools, thus destroying public education which of course IS the goal.

Let me introduce you to Colorado State School Board vice chairman Steve Durham, a Colorado Springs kook who pretends to hate Nazis, not because they were and are murderous scum, but per Steve Durham their real crime is they were "socialists" and goddamit he wants that taught in Colorado schools. Ya see, because Hitler was a leader in the "National Socialist Workers Party" that means they were "socialists" thus because all Democrats are "socialists" Democrats are Nazis. See how that works? Well of course NONE of that is true except to a weak minded drone. But Durham has succeeded in a lot of his warped views on Nazis removing "Nazi" from school curriculum and replacing it with "socialist" . 

This is the latest GOP "strategy". Take over school boards and push this bullshit forward . Nazis are socialists, immigrants are illegal voters, racism doesnt exist, America is inherently great, slavery and genocide must be studied but only from the perspective of white people.

You better check these people running for school boards. They wont come right out and say so, but the destruction of truth and public education are their goal.

By the way, the Hitler party was challenged by the German Social Democrats because they were NOT socialists and Hitler was installed by two German conservative parties because they thought they could put Adolf in the corner and never let him have any power. Then hilarity ensued. Thats  a FACT Herr Durham. 

Since when did facts become "grooming" ? The truth become a lie?

Owning The Libs, Literally!

 Its 17 days until the country decides if democracy and protocol are preferable to fascism and chaos. But those gas prices! My eggs! My bread! My drugs! As if the Republicans have a plane....well for THAT anyway. They do not.

But they DO have plans for other shit. A recent article in the Federalist, thats a magazine for fascists who love kangaroo courts, hanging judges, unqualified judges, and owning the libs at all costs. Read the goddamned thing. Conservatives have failed (basically because libs still exist) thus conservatism must turn to authoritarianism and call themselves revolutionaries . Its simply time for right wing America to become the Amerikkka that leftists have hollered about for years. For their own good of course.

They argue that simply choosing to not be married or have children is a direct attack on "religious" people. That the refusal to procreate will leave even less "religious" people in the future thus destroying religion. Its an attack. The atheists are at the gate!

They argue that the left, the libs, are not to be negotiated with. The counter revolutionaries (ie conservatives) must "wield power" because give libs a meter   inch they take a kilometer  mile. Take Gay marriage for instance. You give em the right to marry and the next thing they do is "persecute" a cake maker. Trying to keep it together here.

They are correct on one point. This is a "war". We cannot afford to lose it.

Stop Texting Me!!

 They text all day long. They even text you and use the wrong name. Most of them are all the same. Its an EMERGENCY, if you dont "chip in" $10 right now we are going to lose. Then it's another EMERGENCY again the next day and on and on.

I get Democrats texts 90% of the time. I get texts from Republicans ONCE. If its not Trump telling me he knows where I live, it's Kim Reynolds in Iowa saying she needs help to hold off the radical left. Hey lady, I AM the radical left. It usually stops after I answer with a pleasant fuck off or worse but then a new reptile Republican will step up. The other day it was some radical christian nationalist running for school board who wants to end public education. I love insulting christians with f words via text. I know the candidate probably doesnt see it but the staffer who I assume is also a Christian nationalist does and thats good enough for me.

Look the most egregious violators of texting me are Tim Ryan, Val Demings, Catherine Cortes Masto, and Ralph Warnock. I don't live anywhere near any of those states so I have no idea where my $10 would go. I haven't seen their ads but I assume because they are Democrats, and thus unwilling to get into the gutter and fight my $10 will go to waste. 

Here we see two kinds of ads. Don Bacon, a vulnerable do nothing Republican incumbent, and Mike Flood, a nerd of a Republican if there ever was one, put 4 ads on to every one of their Democratic opponents. The ads are all Nancy Pelosi, AOC, and Joe Biden want to let you die in the streets cuz they all defunded the cops, praised the "rioters", all voted to let violent criminals out of prison to kill you and your family. They want to take all your money and give it to illegals, they want to make you lose your mortgage and put you into the streets, they all want to tax you out of existence....blah blah blah.......I've taken to muting the TV as soon as an ad comes on. Should I chip in $10 to the local Democrats? Why? Their ads are all hey look I am a non partisan who loves the other side and will work with them to achieve solutions. Like what exactly? Help them impeach Biden? Help them impeach Garland and Harris and anybody else that can help them achieve fascism? Help them cut more taxes on the rich? I aint giving you $10 for that shit.

The Democrats better wake up. These water torture constant Republican ads are all the same. Nothing good about their candidate, its all what will happen if the radical liberal wins. And its fucking working. But the Democrats never learn. That Michelle Obama bullshit about how when they go low we go high was nonsense then and it's even worse advice now. Yet here we continue with the Democratic ads about how they are lying about me and can't we all get along? FUCK NO!

Where are the ads featuring the goddamned traitors that took shits in the Capitol not even 2 years ago/ Where are the ads with Mussolini and Hitler and Putin? Where are the ads about fucking abortion? Where are the ads about voter suppression? Where are the ads calling Don Bacon or Mike Flood a fucking fascist? Though they may not be is irrelevant. They WILL enable it as they did a criminal tax cheat traitor for 4 years. Its literally 19 days until the country votes and the way it looks Americans care more about a fucking egg costing more than it used to than democracy itself. We all know the Republicans will do NOTHING about any of this, but Americans have proven the attitude is ahhhhhhh they'll never really do that stuff like outlaw abortion or outlaw gay marriage or install fascism. The bottom line is they WILL and they HAVE and if they gain power this time they will NEVER give it up.

So look Democrats....until I see the ads about the Republicans being fascists and misogynists and bigots and fascists and homophobes and fascists and xenophobic assholes......you aint getting my $10.

 

The Good The Bad And The Ugly!

 

There's some things in life that are bad. You know they're bad, everybody knows they're bad, but you don't care. Then there's things in life that are good, even great, and you do really care. Then there's things in life that are ugly and they just won't stop.

Over the weekend the alleged end of the Halloween series opened in theaters and not being a streaming guy I had to go, in Imax. I knew it was gonna suck, I expected it to suck, and it didn't disappoint. Oh yeah it sucks. But it sucks on a whole new level.

Look I've loved the Halloween series since the first one back in 1977? It was a new take on horror movies. I mean nothing could beat the Exorcist or The Omen but Halloween was right there to me. It was real. There was no supernatural goings on just a psycho murderer terrorizing teens. Michael Myers made a name for himself in that movie. But so did Laurie Strode. Michael Myers vs Laurie Strode forever man. I'd be there everytime. And it thrilled me to see Jamie Lee Curtis in her 60's with the gray hair and the unworked on face. She was the bomb as a kid and still is. Michael Myers may be the greatest horror villain ever. But this movie......has a bit of Laurie Strode and even less of Michael Myers. Its not about either of them, its about an incel and Lauries granddaughter getting involved for gawd knows why. He's a wimpy mechanic who'd accidentally killed a child, she's a nurse who takes one look at him and pursues him like hes freakin Timothy Chalomet. Its unreal and just dumb. Finally Michael Myers appears, then disappears again and the wimpy incel starts whacking people as he has Michaels "eyes".....I dont know...eventually incel guy overpowers Michael (really?) and steal his mask, starts killing everyone and eventually gets to Laurie. But Michael is pissed his mask got stolen by such a wuss and goes to get it back and then hilarity ensues at the Strode house. Good lord, I get the money grab here, and I get Jamie Lee Curtis wanting to end this bullshit, but this movie is a deception. If you think you're getting the Halloween movie that ends the series well you are, but you have to sit through an hour and a half to get there. Stream it on Peacock and fast forward 90 minutes into it and then start watching.  Or better yet forget it.

The good? Aint Too Proud To Beg opened here last night and if you love Motown and the Temptations and even the Supremes run to this show. Its the musical story of the Temptations. Its not a concert, its a story with music, familial music and a story you probably don't know full of egos, tragedy, drug abuse, racism, alcoholism. And of course the music.

Told from the perspective of founding member Otis Williams, the narrator is Otis, who tells how the Temptations came to be in Detroit, sang for pennies, developed a style of song and dance, and hooked up with Berry Gordy where the hits began. Along the way we learn about the women, the booze, the racism, the fame, the egos and the songs. Peppered with Motown songs from the Temps and the Supremes who are their main rivals, it moves at a fast pace and tells a great story at the same time. The second act is much more tragic as people leave the group, come back, get into drugs and die of illnesses , accidents, drug abuse, and suicide . The story of Papa Was a Rolling Stone is my favorite and I wont ruin it but the whole success of the song was a surprise lets say.

The show is a must. The opening night crowd was few and far between but we made a damn lot of noise because you couldn't help but cheer these great performers. Support this show, you wont be sorry.

The ugly is the political ad from some shadow group called Citizens For Sanity. This is THE ugliest political ad I may have ever seen. Its basically a call out to the Great Replacement Theory. Joe Biden is letting people over the border who the Democrats want to "replace you" and "take what you've earned" and rape your daughters. I am not exaggerating. This is as blatant of a racist ad as you can get. Scenes of riots and marauding brown people and scary headlines of "illegal immigrants" killing and raping children "one of whom was 3 years old". 

But then with a little research you CAN find who is responsible for the ad and its not the aforementioned Citizens For Sanity but one Stephen Miller, the greasy little Goebbels character from the prior administration. The rat faced little hate filled 30 something who looks 50 something. Its all him. Citizens For Sanity is an environmental group based in Florida . This group is Stephen Miller, a Nazi white supremacist fucker based out of hell. 

This election season cant end fast enough.
