Local News on Abortion!

Local news today. Governor Pete Ricketts (Lame Duck-Ne) rounded up as many state senators as he could in his attempt to outlaw abortion with a special session of Nebraska's legislature. Without getting into the details of being the only state with a single house legislature, Ricketts needed 33 state senators to jizz up their misogyny and hop in the truck and drive to Lincoln to babble on about how pro life they are while crushing women's freedom. Last spring during the regular session, the abortion fight came to the floor for a trigger law attempt anticipating the overturning of Roe V Wade. The 33 figure is key because if the other side begins a filibuster, 33 is the number needed to stop it. Ricketts and the Misogynists could only muster 32 as heroes like Megan Hunt, Carol Blood, Jen Day, Mikaela Cavanaugh, Anna Wishart, John Cavanaugh, Wendy DeBoer, John McCollister, Adam Morefeld, Patty Pansing Brooks, Tony Vargas and Steve Lathrop held fast and basically said we shall be here forever and make your lives even more miserable than living in Gordon, Nebraska already makes it.

Ricketts read the tea leaves, came up with 30 and gave it up. No special session and he will hope his assumed successor, Christo-Fascist Jim Pillen (R-Jesus) can pray a lot and come up with the 33 (hey the same age as Jesus its a lock) needed to crush women's rights. That's why voting in November  is so important to keep the commanders and their gender traitor allies from the holy grail.

In Norfolk, Nebraska a 41 year old mother and her 18 year old daughter (17 and a minor at the time) are being charged by a zealous DA with 3 felonies and 2 misdemeanors in regards to an "illegal" abortion. The story is awful cloudy as the journalism around here is minimum wage and geared towards obituaries. But the journalists who have been bounced from so called legit sources (eaten up by hedge fund blood suckers and totally uninterested in news) and jumped to online "newspapers" like the Nebraska Examiner are the best reporters here by far.

Bottom line here, the 17 year old obtained abortion pills at 22 weeks, gave birth to a stillborn baby and then with Mom, buried the stillborn baby without telling anybody. A neighbor allegedly snitched (ahhh too bad there's no bounty Texas style) and the local prosecutors began to "investigate" by strong arming Facebook into providing private chats the woman and her mother had regarding obtaining abortion pills. So much for you Facebook freaks who think your info is private and secure.

The "abortion" occurred at 29 weeks, which admittedly is well over the 20 weeks allowed under current Nebraska law, and the local yokels jumped into action. The felony charges were filed against the mom for performing an abortion over 20 weeks, performing an abortion as a non doctor and abandoning a human body. Felony charges against the daughter include abandoning a human body. A third person, a dude, pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor of burying somebody without forking over money to a mortician or some goddamned thing.

Here came the politicians. Stereotypical Nebraska Republican House member Nerd Mike Flood (Typical Dork-Ne) weighed in on his opposition to "late term abortions" and had to throw in how much he wants a federal abortion ban. His opponent, and hopefully the new House member, Patty Pansing Brooks took the cautious route, you know the route that says wait for the real story to come out and THEN say something.

The story here really is what law enforcement, Barney Fife style, can and will do to get what they want (see Beatrice 6). They twisted the arm of the kids doctors to fork over her medical records (so much for Hippa) and then forced Facebook with its gillions of dollars to fork over private chat info. These two things are the case against them. Violations of privacy rights. But what do you expect? While the MAGA crowd crows about violation of a "billionaire" cult leader's rights, the same crowd (and trust me Norfolk is MAGA central) uses whatever they can to take down a scared child and her mother to make a political point. As State Senator Megan Hunt said, these people need help and support, not prosecution. But that's now how these "pro-lifers" work. They want all you women in red robes hanging on a wall while their gender traitor allies cheer them on.

Go Big Red.
